Our design was guided by the scale of the main lobby and the location of the public facilities (ballrooms and meeting rooms) at each ends of the first floor.
It gave us the opportunity to address user flows and allowed us to create a dramatic bridge crossing the lobby space, book-ended with two spiraling staircases adding dynamism to the spaces while enhancing connectivity and users experiences.
The smoothness of the lines and the pebble shaped elements of the lobby took their inspiration from the desert landscape of ningxia, which was matched by the curved and smooth design of the building envelop.
