Development of a religious park, centered around a sitting statue of maitreya buddha. The tallest statue in the world at 150m (500ft), made out of steel and bronze with a design life of over 1000 years. the development also incorporated, monasteries, hotels, visitor centers and spaces to accommodate major religious event catering for over 300,000 people. Sustainability and reduction of environmental impacts were essential vectors of this project, which required lateral thinking in terms of design, engineering and costs to achieve the client targets.
